If you are planning on launching a new website you may find this list useful.

  1. Spelling and grammar are checked for all pages.
  2. If used, all lorem ipsum content has been removed.
  3. All contact details are correct.
  4. You have the rights to use the images, fonts, and content.
  5. Your website has been tested across the major browsers.
  6. The website CSS and HTML is properly validated.
  7. All Images on the website are optimized.
  8. You have a favicon is in place (Google now uses these).
  9. Your contact forms are submitting data (and to the correct email address).
  10. All links (Internal & External) are working.
  11. Load time for all pages has been optimized.
  12. All pages have unique page titles (currently they should be less than 70 characters and include your chosen keywords).
  13. All pages have unique meta-descriptions (currently they should be less than 156 characters and include your chosen keywords).
  14. All pages have your chosen keywords (certainly less than 10 and all keywords appear in the page content).
  15. All metadata is properly in place for the search engines.
  16. All metadata is properly in place for any social media sharing content.
  17. Check the spelling and grammar are correct in your metadata.
  18. All images have completed alt tags.
  19. Your website has a dynamic XML sitemap.
  20. 301 redirects are in place for any missing pages (if a site has existed on this domain).
  21. You let people know if the website uses cookies.
  22. That the website is PCI compliant if you’re storing and processing credit card information.
  23. Website and sitemap have been submitted to the search engines.
  24. Don’t forget to setup the analytics account.
  25. Don’t forget to add the website analytics tracking codes, Facebook pixel etc.

The list is by no means exhaustive and not in any particular order, but they are important.
